I have seen the first problem now and then on our dogs, but not as much as on the pictures shown above. I sometimes see it when I clip their coats when they have been long haired for a while. It goes away within a week without me doing anything other than clip and bath once.

Could it have something to do with warmth and/or humidity?

Once we had a male loosing hair on his ears. He looked like Archie, but in his case the vet said it was lice, and after treatment, the hair grew back. He did scratch a little but not much, but the lice could be seen in a microscope, so it was defintely lice. (I'm hoping i'm using the right word).

We have had one who lost hair on his ears, usually end of winter/beginning of spring and the vet suggested that we use vitamin A cream on them to help the hair grow back. Cannot say if it helped as his hair always grew back by summer, but it may have returned faster as a result!

We have also had a couple who would get scabby ears too. Only 2 Ceskys that we have had seem to have escaped any problems.

Hi

We have had this problem on some of our Cesky terriers for a number of years, our vet carried out tests and came back with a member of the ringworm family. treatment a very stonge tablet for all the dogs we had to wear gloves and stay away from pregnant people. this worked but reoccured we decided that we would not do that again. We had good results using Imervole this had quick results. but again we started to worry about using chemicals, had have been using athlete's foot cream or canisten cream and just resently we used Once athlete's cream on our young dog who had devoled the tell tale signs. We find it strange that some of the others never suffer with it. I hope this helps you find this help.

In the 12 years we have owned Cesky Terriers this year is the first time we have experienced 'scabby' edges of ears this year. One of my Cardigan corgis use to suffer with it tho'. It does seem to just disappear after a while
